Rumasa's Little Bee — The Historic Symbol
🐝
Rumasa — The Most Iconic Sponsorship in Rayo's History
The Rumasa Little Bee is one of the most recognizable symbols in the entire history of Rayo Vallecano. The logo of the Ruiz-Mateos business group stamped on the chest made these shirts immediately identifiable and eternally associated with the Vallecas club. For collectors worldwide, the Little Bee is the detail that elevates these shirts to icon status — extremely rare to find, even more so in a match-worn version and in this condition.
The relationship between Rayo and the Ruiz-Mateos family was deep and controversial — the Nueva Rumasa group even owned the club. The little bee logo on the shirt is now a piece of Spanish football history, recognized by collectors from Europe, America, and Asia as one of the most iconic shirts of the 90s.
"The Rayo shirt with the Rumasa Little Bee is one of the great icons of Spanish football from the 90s. When it appears on the market, it sells out quickly."

Gilmar
🇧🇷 Brazil · Field Player
Rayo Vallecano · Away · 1999/2000
Brazilian player who played for São Paulo, Cruzeiro, and other Brazilian clubs before moving to Spanish football. He was part of the Rayo Vallecano squad in the 1999/2000 season — the best in the club's history to date, with a historic 9th place in LaLiga and unprecedented qualification for the UEFA Cup via Fair Play.
This Away shirt bears the name and number of a Brazilian who was part of one of the most special moments in Rayo Vallecano's history. A match-worn piece with a dual identity: Spanish football and Brazilian soul.
The 1999/2000 Season — Rayo's Best in History
The 1999/2000 season was historic for Rayo Vallecano. The Vallecas club finished in 9th place in LaLiga — their best performance to date — and qualified for the 2000/01 UEFA Cup in a unique way: as a prize for UEFA's Fair Play award, granted to the Spanish federation. European qualification achieved through elegance and sportsmanship.
The following year, Rayo would reach the UEFA Cup quarter-finals, eliminated by Deportivo Alavés — who would be finalists. This Away shirt from the season that marked the beginning of this golden cycle is a living document of that moment.
Rayo — The Club of the People of Vallecas
1924
Founded on May 29th in the working-class neighborhood of Puente de Vallecas, Madrid. From the beginning, a club with a strong political and social identity — working-class, anti-fascist, and left-wing.
1977
First promotion to the Spanish First Division. Rayo begins its love-hate relationship with LaLiga — moving up and down, but never losing its identity.
1995/96
Historic 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabéu. One of the most emblematic results in Spanish football of that decade.
1999/2000
Season of this shirt. 9th place in LaLiga and qualification for the UEFA Cup via the Fair Play award. Gilmar wears #19 Away with the Rumasa Little Bee.
2000/01
UEFA Cup quarter-finals — eliminated by Deportivo Alavés, who would be finalists. The greatest European achievement in the club's history.
