This is a faithful reproduction of the iconic jersey that Rapa Nui (Easter Island) wore in the "Match of the Century" against Colo Colo in the Copa Chile. After many years, we managed to contact the original supplier to bring back this historic piece.
⚠️ Note: the reproduction does not use the exact same fabric as in 2009, but the factory perfectly replicated every design detail of the original jersey.
The "Match of the Century"
The legendary match took place on August 5, 2009, in the Copa Chile. What made the game historic was that it was the first time a professional Chilean football team traveled to Easter Island to play an official match.
The opponent, Colo Colo, one of the biggest clubs in the country, faced the amateur team of Rapa Nui at the Hanga Roa Municipal Stadium. The match, which ended with a score of 4-0 for Colo Colo, was much more than just a football game. It was an event that celebrated the passion for the sport and the cultural identity of the island, featuring welcoming ceremonies and the famous Hoko ceremonial dance before kick-off.
The jersey you see here is not just a piece of clothing, but a symbol of this unique moment in Chilean football history, a true "match of the century."
