About the Shirt
4 historic crests embroidered on the fabric
1911
The first crest in Argyle's history. The green cross and the buildings come from Plymouth's coat of arms. It only lasted 5 years — but during that period the club won its first title, the 1912/13 Southern League.
1949/50
First crest with the full Plymouth coat of arms, after more than 30 years without an emblem on the shirt. It lasted for 14 consecutive years. Legends like Wilf Carter and Jack "Jumbo" Chisholm wore this badge during a period of highs and lows for the club.
1964/65
Considered one of the most beautiful in the club's history. The Mayflower ship appears for the first time on the shirt — on a white kit with a green stripe, cited as an aesthetic icon. It lasted 9 seasons.
1973/74
Minimalist design with stylized P.A.F.C. initials. It appeared in two historic seasons: the League Cup semi-final and the "Dream Season" of 1974/75, when Plymouth won promotion.
42
Years of absence of the front sponsor
Beacon Electrical is back on the front of the shirt — exactly as it was for the first time in the 1983/84 season. A 42-year return that makes the piece even more special for collectors.
95%
Recycled material — Puma's RE:FIBRE program
The shirt is made from at least 95% recycled material, sourced from textile waste. Produced by Puma as part of its RE:FIBRE sustainability program.
35
Project 35 — social cause printed on the back
Logo on the back, below the collar: Project 35, Plymouth's partnership with Ginsters to combat food poverty in the local community. The shirt carries a message beyond football.
The 2025/26 Season
After two years in the Championship, Plymouth Argyle begins 2025/26 in League One with the goal of returning to the second division. Under new manager Tom Cleverley, the Pilgrims are rebuilding the squad with a hunger for redemption.
"The shirt of reconstruction — for a club that never stops fighting."
In the previous season (2024/25), Plymouth was one of the biggest FA Cup underdogs: a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Home Park, with a goal by Ryan Hardie, eliminating the Premier League leaders in the fourth round.
139 Years of History
1886
Founding of the club as Argyle Football Club in Plymouth, Devon. First match in October, against Caxton, from Cornwall.
1920
Entry into the Football League. The Pilgrims' professional journey in the English divisions begins.
2001–04
Golden era: third division champions with a record 102 points in 2001/02, and two years later, promoted to the Championship.
2022/23
League One champions with 101 points. Return to the Championship after 13 years of absence.
2024/25
Historic 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup. Relegation at the end of the season, 23rd in the Championship.
2025/26
League One. New era, new manager, same ambition. This is the shirt of this season.
