Matonense competed in the 2023 Campeonato Paulista Série A3 — the third division of São Paulo state football — seeking promotion back to A2. The club concluded its participation in the group stage, keeping alive the flame of its loyal and passionate fan base from São Paulo's interior.

Founded on May 24th at the Metalworkers' Union in Matão — SP, by a group of sports enthusiasts who didn't want to see the city without professional football.
1995–98
Historic feat: climbed from the Fourth to the First Division of São Paulo in just 4 years. In 1998, it competed in Brasileirão Série C.
2000
Reached Brasileirão Série A (Copa João Havelange). An inland São Paulo club playing in the national elite.
2013
Two-time champion of Paulista Série B, beating Água Santa 4-0 in the final. Discovered Grafite, a striker who shone at Wolfsburg and for the Brazilian National Team.
2023
