This is the jersey of the return. After an epic penalty shootout victory over Itabuna in 2025, Galícia Esporte Clube returned to the Baiano Championship Série A — and this jersey is the uniform for that historic season. Founded in 1933 by immigrants from Spanish Galicia, "The Destroyer of Champions" is the first three-time Baiano champion in history (1941-42-43), with a unique identity: a white crest with the blue diagonal stripe of the Galician flag and the St James Cross in red. In July 2025, Galícia Esporte Clube secured promotion to the Baiano Championship Série A in a dramatic showdown: a goalless draw with Itabuna in regular time, at the Joia da Princesa Stadium in Feira de Santana, led to a penalty shootout — and Galícia triumphed. This 2026 jersey is the uniform the club will wear in its return to the first division. For the Galician fans and the Spanish community of Salvador, it was a moment of historic celebration.

Founded on January 1, 1933, by immigrants from Galicia, an autonomous region of Spain, Galícia EC dominated Baiano football with an iron fist in its first ten years: it was runner-up for five consecutive years between 1935 and 1940, then became the first three-time state champion in the history of Baiano football, in 1941, 1942, and 1943 — a feat that Bahia would take five years to match, and Vitória more than fifty. Five state titles in total and a unique history in the Northeast.

Bahia is home to Brazil's third-largest Spanish colony, with over ten thousand Hispano-Brazilians in Salvador.
