The green centenary shirt of Las Águilas — launched by Nike under the theme "Ilumina El Juego" (Light Up The Game) to celebrate 100 years of Mexico's most popular and successful club. Centenario de Leyenda · The 100-Year Crest
On October 12, 2016, Club América completed a century of existence — and Nike dressed Las Águilas with a special commemorative crest: the silhouette of the American continent surrounded by the inscription "CENTENARIO DE LEYENDA" and the years "1916 – 2016", embroidered on the chest. Centenary shirts are, by definition, unrepeatable: América will only turn 100 once, and this is the mantle that marked the moment.

Why Green? · The Fusion of Yellow and Blue from the Crest
Launched under the theme "Ilumina El Juego" (Light Up The Game), the third centenary shirt features various shades of green — a color chosen by the club to combine the yellow of the home shirts with the blue historically used in the away kits. The result is a gradient of horizontal stripes on the body, from dark to light green, with sleeves and shoulders in deep green. A bold and unmistakable design within the club's visual history.

The centenary year found América at its peak: two-time CONCACAF Champions League winner (2014/15 and 2015/16), the club ended 2016 by competing in the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan — where they faced Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid in the semi-finals — and the Torneo Apertura final.
