The Eagles' burgundy centenary jersey — one of the most intelligent homages ever made by Nike. The color is not América's: it's Torino's, the Italian club that was the Eagles' first opponent at the inauguration of Estadio Azteca, on May 29, 1966, before more than 100,000 people. Fifty years later, in the club's 100th year, América wore the color of their first rival at the Coloso de Santa Úrsula. History within history.

Estadio Azteca opened its doors with a friendly match between América and Torino, before more than 100,000 spectators, with the kickoff given by the president of Mexico. In the 10th minute, Brazilian Arlindo dos Santos scored the first goal in the stadium's history — a shot into the top corner. Zague, another Brazilian, scored the second, and the match ended 2-2. The burgundy of this jersey is the color Torino wore that day: Nike transformed Azteca's first opponent into a centenary tribute.

The Colossus of Santa Úrsula · The Only Stadium with Two World Cup Finals
In 2016, the jersey also celebrated the 50th anniversary of Estadio Azteca — América's home and the only stadium on the planet to host two World Cup finals: 1970 (Pelé's Brazil) and 1986 (Maradona's Argentina, with the Hand of God and the Goal of the Century, scored there). Wearing this jersey is wearing the history of the most mythical football temple in the Americas.

Centenario de Leyenda · 100 Years of Mexico's Giant
On October 12, 2016, Club América completed a century — and celebrated at its peak: two-time CONCACAF Champions League winner, participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan (semifinal against Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid) and Torneo Apertura final. This jersey features the commemorative badge with the inscription "Centenario de Leyenda · 1916–2016" and the "100" patch on the nape. Centenary jerseys do not repeat themselves.
